Our Indochina cultural tour through Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia will find you walking through Buddhist temples in Luang Prabang, the market streets of Hanoi and Hué, and the extraordinary temples of Angkor. Each day, we do as the locals do, walking or pedaling our way through villages, or cruising on Halong Bay or up the Mekong and Perfume rivers in longboats. The sensory experiences of Southeast Asia are, to say the least, powerful. In fourteen days, you will experience all that is Indochina.
Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia Cultural Tour Overview
Days 1-3: We meet in Bangkok to fly together to Luang Prabang, Laos, where we enjoy a city tour of temples and palaces, sunset hikes, sacred caves, longboats on the Mekong River, and evening markets in town.
Days 4-6: Hanoi, Vietnam. Tour historic and cultural sites of Hanoi including Ho Chi Minh’s house, the One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, and the city’s Old Quarter. Explore the World Heritage Site of Halong Bay by private boat.
Days 7-8: Hué, Vietnam. Boat trip on the Perfume River. Visit the Citadel, Imperial Palace, and Forbidden Purple City, as well as the Dong Ba Market.
Days 9-10: Travel to Hoi An, Vietnam and explore this exceptionally well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port with its mix of Japanese, Chinese, and European architecture. Options for a cooking class, or a visit to My Son Ruins.
Days 11-13: Fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Discover the ancient temples of Angkor, a magnificent monument to Khmer civilization. Explore Angkor Wat at sunrise, with its hundreds of intricately carved temples scattered across a tropical landscape. Optional biking tour of Roulos temples.
Day 14: Fly back to Bangkok, Thailand for further independent travel or return flights home.
